The Hidden Reason Your Dreams are Not Coming True

Most people choose their present situation, even if it is pain and misery, instead of confronting their fear of change. Often we don’t even imagine what change means. Despite the fact that history is nothing but an endless series of unexpected, radical changes.
The amygdala is an old part of the brain which is the center of fear. It detects threats and creates fear to avoid danger. It is commonly associated with flight or fight, phobias, unconscious discrimination. Mostly with uncontrolled momentary impulses.
However, the amygdala decides whether to trigger fear by detecting whether you are in a new situation or not. Firsts are dangerous, so a lot of fear. That is why you are scared the first time you jump in water from a great height, or in a roller coaster, or do a presentation. Anything first is scary, and then gets progressively less scary as the amygdala understands that that behavior does not kill you. I have written how this can be used to overcome fear through the nightmare technique.
